Change Week 2024

A life changing creative, leadership and personal development residential camp

The inaugural training and mentorship camp, Change Week! was a tremendous success thanks to the efforts and support of several individuals and partners. The camp took place during 1st-6th September 2024 at the tranquil and beautiful Burambira Heights resort in Kabale, South Western Uganda. Organized by Teens For Change (T4C) in partnership with SoarAway, it was also supported by other partners including Real Impact Productions, Nyungu Creatives Village, Kigezi Teens Magazine, Hope Radio and Ms Jin Sung of OASIS Center International.

The successfully vetted fifteen (15) brilliant, young and ready participants arrived on Sunday 1st September and settled in together with the facilitators. Sessions begun on Monday with an introductory talk on leadership and the need for personal development, engaging them in envisioning the Africa of their dreams. In discussion they were thus challenged to see themselves as party to the solution and not to the problem when reviewing systemic discrepancies.

Participants showcased the different skills they acquired, including a short film produced by the Film & Photography track, and pitched some of the community transformation projects they hope to undertake. They were then awarded certificates and commissioned with a call to be courageous and persistent with their mission as leaders.

We were honored by the presence of special guests including Professor Busingye Felix from Kabale University, Ms Ruth, founder of Grace Villa, a home for vulnerable girls in Kabale and the guest of honor, Bishop Aloysius Kiiza.
